Drainage

A proper system of drains  is required to carry away all kinds of fluid wastes other than sewage. If not so done, the watery fluids would accumulate in pits and puddles and will become the breeding places for mosquitoes and other harmful insects.

There is requirement of a drainage system to carry away the fluid wastes. Therefore, the system that is related to drainage of fluid waste is called as Drainage system.

Drainage System :

 Drainage system, patterns formed by streams, rivers and lakes in a drainage basin. Drainage system, a system by which water is drained on or in the soil to enhance production. Sustainable drainage system, designed to reduce the potential impact of development.

Types of Drainage System :

Surface drainage system : Surface drainage systems remove excess water from the land’s surface through channels or ditches. In some cases, the ground surface is shaped or graded to create sloping toward the channels. 

Subsurface drainage system : Subsurface drainage systems are implemented beneath the top layer of soil. Sometimes referred to as a French drain, they work at the root level to remove excess water. 

Slope drainage system : Slope drainage systems are built to allow water to flow from a structure in a downward direction. It is done with the aid of pipes that move down through the slope.
